Kim Kardashian sues website over ‘fake Paris robbery’ claims

Must read

Kim Kardashian is suing a celebrity website for claiming that she faked the dramatic Paris robbery.

The reality star, 35, was locked up in a bathroom in a private residence in Paris and tied up by armed robbers.

The robbers, dressed as police officers, are thought to have stolen 10 million dollars worth of jewellery during the terrifying incident, which took place as Kim was in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week.

In a lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, New York, Kim’s lawyers have said that she was wrongly portrayed as a liar and thief after she was attacked.

It seeks unspecified damages from MediaTakeOut.com, saying that Kim was victimised a second time when the website reported that she faked the robbery and lied about the assault.

The report came after Twitter trolls mocked the mother-of-two’s ordeal.
James Corden rallied to Kim’s defence, telling people to stop making jokes about the robbery and remember “she’s a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend. Be nice or shut up”.

The lawsuit came after Khloe Kardashian said that her older sister was “not doing that well” following the jewellery heist.

Khloe, speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, said the incident was “incredibly traumatic” for her sister.

She said that the incident was “a wake-up call to make a lot of life adjustments”.

Rapper Kanye West, Kim’s husband, 39, has returned to his tour after cancelling dates following the robbery.

The rapper resumed the Saint Pablo Tour in his home town of Chicago after abruptly cutting short a New York concert citing a “family emergency”.
No arrests have been made.
