Poland 4 Georgia 0
Robert Lewandowski hit a dramatic hat-trick in the closing stages as Group D leaders Poland thrashed Georgia 4-0 in their Euro 2016 qualifier in Warsaw.
Lewandowski struck in the 89th minute and then twice in injury time as Poland finally put a realistic slant on the scoreline of a one-sided encounter at the Narodowy Stadium.
Arkadiusz Milik opened the scoring just after the hour when he finally beat superb Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Loria with a long-range shot.
Poland, top scorers in the competition so far, had looked in the mood for more goals from the outset.
Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski was a particular threat and had three good chances in the first half.
He went in on goal after brilliantly beating the challenge of Guram Kashia on the edge of the area and rounding Loria, but Aleksandre Amisulashvili cleared off the line.
The ball came back to Lewandowski but Loria recovered to tip his follow-up shot around the post.
Lewandowski went close again with a powerful shot on the turn but Loria thwarted him by palming over the bar. Kamil Grosicki, who also put a good early chance wide, and Milik further tested Loria.
Poland maintained the pressure in the second half and finally got reward after 62 minutes when Milik received the ball back after taking a short corner and curled a fine left-footed shot into the top corner.
Further chances for Lewandowski and Grosicki came and went before the Bayern star finally hit the target in stunning fashion in the dying moments.
He first raced onto a Milik pass to smash past Loria before he headed home a cross from substitute Jakub Blaszczykowski. Milik was again the provider as Lewandowski put the seal on victory in the third minute of stoppage time.
