Heavy snowfalls have closed Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport and shut down the city’s bus system.

Flights in and out of the airport have been suspended for a number of hours.

Snow quickly turned into a slushy mess in Paris’ streets, halting traffic.

The RATP transport network said all buses in the capital had stopped running, along with many suburban buses.
