WhatsApp is to start sharing user data with Facebook.

The messaging service was bought by Facebook for €17bn in 2014.

Now the latest update to WhatsApp’s terms of use will see the company share data – including phone numbers – with the social media giant.

WhatsApp say their end-to-end encryption of messages will mean user privacy is maintained.

I have always known they will do this. This was the whole point of the sale, to get all the data. What a whole lot of crap.
