<p>A 13-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the street.</p>
<p>The youngster suffered a single knife wound to his back in the attack in which a dog suffered fatal stab wounds.</p>
<p>Police were called to Cherry Lane, Sale, Greater Manchester, at around 4.45pm on Saturday after residents raised the alarm.</p>
<p>A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: &#8220;Officers attended and found that a 13-year-old boy had been stabbed once in the back.</p>
<p>&#8220;He has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as now stable.</p>
<p>&#8220;A dog also received fatal injuries after suffering from knife wounds.</p>
<p>&#8220;Police inquiries around the area are ongoing and extra officers are on patrol to provide reassurance.&#8221;</p>
