		</div><p>The leader of France’s far right National Front, Marine Le Pen, has said it’s <i>“ridiculous”</i> for Nigel Farage and others in UKIP to pretend their policies differ.</p>
<p>Le Pen’s appearance on the BBC’s The Andrew Marr Show has been controversial; many believing that it was inappropriate to show on Remembrance Day, and that her views shouldn’t be given a platform.</p>

<p>Le Pen, who has led a number of polls ahead of next spring’s French presidential election, denied that her party is racist, claiming that was a charge from the <i>“elites”</i>. She also claimed that the rise of nationalism across Europe was not a mirror of the 1930s.</p>
<p>Le Pen predicted her election as French president next year will be the third act of a “global revolution” which has seen Brexit and Donald Trump’s success in the US election shake the world.</p>
<p>Suzanne Evans, who is running to be UKIP leader, distanced her party from Le Pen. Speaking on ITV’s Peston On Sunday, Evans said: “I was appalled, she said France is full, we don’t want any more immigrants. That is so far away from Ukip policy, it is unimaginable.</p>
<p>“Our immigration policy is the same as Australia’s – we want to welcome people in who can contribute to the country and we want to have a points-based system of immigration that is fair and treats all people equally. We are miles away from Le Pen.”</p>
