<p>Gemma Arterton has said she is &#8220;thrilled and honoured&#8221; to be one of the five actors shortlisted for this year&#8217;s Bafta rising star award.</p>
<p>The actress and Bond girl, who only graduated from Rada three years ago, is up against Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Aaron Johnson and Emma Stone.</p>
<p>Gemma, who starred alongside Daniel Craig in the Quantum Of Solace before taking the title role in Stephen Frears&#8217; Tamara Drewe, said: &#8220;I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be one of the shortlisted actors for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award. 2010 was an incredible year for me and to be recognised in this way by both my peers and the film-going public is amazing. </p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m in very good company with the other actors who have been nominated, so it is a huge compliment to be considered to win this prestigious award.&#8221;</p>
<p>Inception star Tom Hardy made headlines when he bulked up to to play infamous prisoner Charles Bronson.</p>
<p>The actor, who is is due to appear in a remake of cold war thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, said: &#8220;I am so grateful to be doing what I love for a living, that is more than enough for me, so it&#8217;s really kind of you to go out of your way to vote for me at all for any award.&#8221;</p>
<p>Andrew Garfield, whose performance in The Social Network won him a Golden Globe nomination, has just started filming in the lead role in the new Spider-Man film.</p>
<p>Aaron Johnson gained critical acclaim for his role as John Lennon in artist Sam Taylor Wood&#8217;s Nowhere Boy.</p>
<p>The winner of the award, now known as the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, will be announced at the Baftas on February 13.</p>
