		</div><p>The helicopter crash landed on the roof of 787 7th Ave in midtown New York City on Monday. Officials says the investigation into the reason of the crash is ongoing.</p>
<p>Firefighters confirmed at least one death, and people have been asked to stay indoors until cleared for safety.</p>
<p>The pilot is the only one confirmed dead although they have not yet been identified.</p>
<p>&#8220;At approximately 1:32 this afternoon, the helicopter took off at the 34th Street heliport and about 11 minutes later crashed across the street from where we are now,&#8221; Police Commissioner James O&#8217;Neill said at a news conference.</p>

<p>New York Governor Andrew Cuomo told CBS news:</p>
<p><em>&#8220;The fire department is on scene, they&#8217;re responding but the preliminary information is that there was a helicopter that made a forced landing, emergency landing, or landed on the roof of the building for one reason or another.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Recent interviews by the New York Police Department revealed the pilot was &#8216;waiting out the weather&#8217; but made the decision to fly regardless. The pilot flew around battery park on the southern part of Manhattan before steering into midtown to an inevitable crash.</p>
