		</div><p>Benedict Cumberbatch&#8217;s wife Sophie Hunter has given birth to a son.</p>
<p>The 38-year-old actor and his spouse, 37, have welcomed their first child into the world a representative for the couple has confirmed.</p>
<p>They told PEOPLE: &#8220;Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son.&#8221;</p>
<p>The first-time parents also asked for privacy following the birth.</p>
<p>The representative continued: &#8220;We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family&#8217;s privacy during these next few precious weeks.&#8221;</p>
<p>Benedict and Sophie announced they were starting a family in January before tying the knot in Mottistone on the Isle of Wight on Valentine&#8217;s Day.</p>
<p>The happy couple then jetted off to Tahiti in the French Polynesia to enjoy their first holiday as a married couple where Benedict was spotted taking good care of the mother-to-be.</p>
<p>An eyewitness shared: &#8220;They were completely relaxed and didn&#8217;t do much of anything other than read and swim in the water.</p>
<p>&#8220;Sophie spent most of her time taking naps and resting.</p>
<p>&#8220;Benedict always made sure she was taken care of. He was always rubbing sunscreen on her back and kissing her neck.&#8221;</p>
