		</div><p>Senator Bernie Sanders has announced he will run for president in 2020.<br />
He confirmed to a Vermont radio station today that he would be making a second bid for the White House.<br />
&#8220;We began the political revolution in the 2016 campaign, and now it&#8217;s time to move that revolution forward,&#8221; he told Vermont Public Radio.</p>
<p>The 77-year-old sent an email to supporters this morning saying that his 2016 campaign &#8220;began the political revolution&#8221; and that it was now to time to &#8220;implement the vision we fought for&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our campaign is not only about defeating Donald Trump,&#8221; he wrote.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our campaign is about transforming our country and creating a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice.&#8221;</p>
<p>Sanders amassed 13 million votes in the 2016 primaries but ultimately lost out on the Democratic nomination to Hillary Clinton.</p>
<p>According to Time magazine, more than 450 people have already registered with the US Federal Election Commission to run for president in 2020.</p>
