<p>Halle Berry has reportedly returned to romantic comedy New Year&#8217;s Eve, but is said to be taking a smaller role.</p>
<p>The Monster&#8217;s Ball actress had pulled out because of a custody battle over two-year-old daughter Nahla, and was replaced by Katherine Heigl, but she was able to step back in with a smaller role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.</p>
<p>Her new part in the romantic comedy apparently sees her playing a nurse in New York, where she will appear alongside the star-studded cast that includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Zac Efron, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michelle and Robert De Niro.</p>
<p>Watchmen actress Carla Gugino has also joined the cast.</p>
<p>Carla, who next appears in Zack Snyder&#8217;s Sucker Punch, would portray a doctor, and is expected to act alongside Jessica Biel and Seth Meyers.</p>
