<p>Beyonce has revealed she donated money she received for performing for the Gaddafi clan to Haiti relief efforts more than a year ago.</p>
<p>The Crazy in Love singer made the announcement in a statement just days after singer Nelly Furtado tweeted that she had got 1 million dollars from the Libyan leader&#8217;s family to perform in Italy in 2007. </p>
<p>Beyonce&#8217;s publicist said the star performed at a private party on the Caribbean island of St. Barts on New Year&#8217;s Eve in 2009. Once it was revealed that the performance was linked to the Gaddafi family, she gave the money and commissions to earthquake relief in Haiti.</p>
<p>Meanwhile Nelly, who shot to fame in 2000 with the hit song I&#8217;m Like a Bird, said she was donating her gig money to charity.</p>
<p>Colonel Gaddafi is currently being investigated for possible war crimes.</p>
