		</div><p>Former vice President Joe Biden has won the US presidential election.</p>
<p>Biden achieved a record number ballots with 74 million votes. Donald Trump obtained 70 million votes, and both candidates recorded the highest number of votes achieved by any presidential candidate since President Obama in 2008.</p>
<p>US citizens took to the streets to celebrate Biden&#8217;s victory.</p>
<p>Biden was honoured by running mate Kamala Harris, who heard the news during her morning jog.</p>

<h3>Global leaders congratulate Biden</h3>
<p>British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson congratulated Biden, stating that he is looking forward &#8220;to working closely together on our shared priorities&#8221;.</p>
<p>German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in a statement, &#8220;Congratulations! The American people have made their decision.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Joe Biden will be the 46th President of the United States of America.</p>
<p>&#8220;I sincerely wish him the best of luck and every success and I would also like to congratulate Kamala Harris, the first female vice president-elect in the history of your country.</p>
<p>&#8220;I look forward to working with President Biden. Our transatlantic friendship is indispensable if we are to deal with the major challenges of our time.&#8221;</p>

<p>Carrie Lam says next US president should not interfere from Hong Kong affairs.</p>
<p>She accused Trump for repeatedly interfering, citing the <a href="https://londonglossy.com/us-imposes-sanctions-on-hong-kong-leader-carrie-lam/">US sanctions on her and Hong Kong officials</a> and the suspension of special trading conditions.</p>
<p>“That is totally unreasonable,” she said at a news conference in Beijing. “I hope that they will come back to normalcy and accept that the relationship has to be built on mutual respect and cooperation.”</p>
<p>President Donald Trump seems unlikely to concede. Trump was seen at his Virginia golf course shortly after the announcement.</p>

<p>Philadelphia was the final location needed for Biden to put the election away. Some believe police foiled an <a href="https://londonglossy.com/two-armed-men-arrested-near-philadelphia-voting-centre/">attack on the Philly voting centre</a> by members of QAnon organization. QAnon has been linked to supporting the Trump campaign.</p>
<p>President Donald Trump has informed he will start the court charges on Monday after claims of voting fraud from the Democrats.</p>
