<p>Blake Lively says she&#8217;s &#8220;overwhelmed&#8221; at being made the new face of Chanel&#8217;s Mademoiselle handbag line.</p>
<p>The Gossip Girl star seems to value the designer item as far more than just a handbag.</p>
<p>Blake told fashion blog Women&#8217;s Wear Daily.com: &#8220;Though I am the face of it, I will carry it like every girl &#8211; I will always feel it&#8217;s more than just a purse &#8211; it&#8217;s a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful CC.&#8221;</p>
<p>Asked how it felt to be made the new face of Chanel the 23-year-old actress, who is often pictured with one of the chain bags on her shoulder out and about in New York, gushed: &#8220;How did Cinderella feel when she slipped on the glass slipper? How did Snow White feel when she met her Prince Charming?</p>
<p>&#8220;A dream come true is an understatement. I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around.&#8221;</p>
<p>The new collection has been designed by Karl Lagerfeld, who photographed Blake at Chanel&#8217;s historic Rue Cambon headquarters for the campaign.</p>
<p>Blake was chosen after she was introduced to Lagerfeld by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.</p>
<p>He said: &#8220;She&#8217;s a kind of American dream girl. I think she will become a great actress.&#8221;</p>
