<p>Jeff Bridges once wanted a part so badly that he wrote to director Martin Scorsese.</p>
<p>The award-winning actor, who has received an Oscar nomination for his performance in True Grit, hankered for the role of Judas Iscariot in Martin&#8217;s big-screen adaptation of The Last Temptation Of Christ, so he made his request known to the filmmaker with pen and paper.</p>
<p>&#8220;The only time I wrote to a director asking if I could be in his movie was when I wrote to Martin Scorsese asking to play Judas in The Last Temptation Of Christ,&#8221; he said. </p>
<p>&#8220;I love that book and the author Nikos Kazantzakis is a favourite of mine. That might have been the only movie I went after to get.&#8221;</p>
<p>The role of Judas went to Harvey Keitel, with Willem Dafoe starring as Jesus, and won Martin an Oscar nomination for best director in 1989.</p>
<p>Jeff, who took home an Academy Award statuette for Crazy Heart in 2010, has enjoyed an illustrious career for over the past four decades.</p>
<p>&#8220;When I look back at all the movies I&#8217;ve done, I have great fond memories,&#8221; he said. </p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not just the movie itself. I look back at The Big Lebowski, I remember all the great times we had when we were making it.&#8221;</p>
