Britons tell of terror on streets

&&num;8220&semi;There were men with samurai swords&comma; machetes and other weapons&period; They were outside our apartments&comma; walking up and down the stairs&comma; which was really scary&period; I was frightened because it was just me and my two brothers&period; We were just hoping we would get out alive&period; I feel ecstatic to be here&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mother-of-two Jala Ibrahim&comma; 33&comma; from Fulham&comma; west London&comma; arrived home with her two daughters aged nine and five&comma; but had to leave behind her Egyptian husband&comma; 47-year-old Osama&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>She said&colon; &&num;8220&semi;The country is in a really bad state at the moment&period; It&&num;8217&semi;s a bit like a war zone but the people are fighting for their rights&period; They want to lead a dignified life and I want to take this opportunity to ask the international community to support that&period; They have the right to choose their ruler&period; They just want to live free like all of us&period; I think they can only move forward because it can&&num;8217&semi;t get any worse&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But she described the £300 she had to pay to board the government-chartered flight as &&num;8220&semi;ridiculous&&num;8221&semi; and said all they received was a snack bag&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;I have seen the people coming together and it&&num;8217&semi;s amazing&period; Everybody is standing behind their cause&comma;&&num;8221&semi;
