<p>A Palestinian grocer portrayed as a terrorist in the movie Bruno has taken his defamation case from Washington DC to New York City.</p>
<p>Ayman Abu Aita&#8217;s lawsuit against Bruno star Sacha Baron Cohen, David Letterman and others was filed on Tuesday in a Manhattan court. Washington Superior Court records show everyone involved agreed the case could be moved.</p>
<p>In the 2009 comedy, Baron Cohen plays an Austrian fashion journalist aiming to make peace in the Middle East. He interviews Abu Aita, who&#8217;s labelled in a caption as a &#8220;member of the militant Al-Aqsa Martyrs&#8217; Brigade&#8221;.</p>
<p>Baron Cohen discussed Bruno&#8217;s encounter with a &#8220;terrorist&#8221; on Letterman&#8217;s Late Show on CBS.</p>
<p>The British comedian and Letterman say in court papers the statements are protected by free speech and other legal principles. </p>
