<p>Pop star Bruno Mars is taking a plea deal that will see him receive a fine, probation and eventual dismissal of a felony cocaine possession charge in Las Vegas.</p>
<p>His lawyers and District Attorney David Roger said the 25-year-old Grammy nominee is due to waive an evidentiary hearing on February 4 so he can plead guilty in state court.</p>
<p>Under the plea deal, his case would be dismissed after a 2,000 dollar (£1,261) fine, 200 hours of community service, drug counselling and a year on probation.</p>
<p>The Just the Way You Are singer, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, was arrested in September after a Las Vegas nightclub performance. Police said he had 2.6 grams (0.09 ounces) of cocaine.</p>
<p>Defence lawyer Blair Berk said Mars appreciates the opportunity he is getting.</p>
<p>The plea agreement will let Mars step past the Las Vegas cocaine charge a week before the 53rd Grammy Awards show in Los Angeles.</p>
<p>Mars is nominated for seven awards, including best male pop vocal for his hit, Just the Way You Are. He was featured on B.o.B&#8217;s Nothin&#8217; on You &#8211; a nominee for record of the year.</p>
<p>Celebrity website TMZ first reported the deal.</p>
