<p>Bryce Dallas Howard is reportedly following in her father&#8217;s footsteps with plans to direct her first film.</p>
<p>The Spider Man 3 star and daughter of Oscar-winning director Ron Howard has apparently told gossip blog Showbiz411 that she will direct The Originals, a film she has co-written.</p>
<p>Bryce describes the movie, about a group of twentysomethings who reunite for a weekend in New York after hearing that one of their old teachers has mysteriously fallen into a coma, as &#8220;like a Breakfast Club for my generation.&#8221;</p>
<p>She also revealed: &#8220;So far, I wrote a part for Zoe Saldana. But there are so many good choices out there.&#8221;</p>
<p>The 30-year-old actress revealed a few years ago that she had started writing the film, which she penned with Dane Charbeneau, and was hoping her father would direct it.</p>
<p>But Ron is now busy developing The Dark Tower, an adaptation of Stephen King&#8217;s comic and novel series for the small and big screen.</p>
