<p>A group of business leaders have called for improved support for budding women entrepreneurs in a bid to &#8220;reinvigorate&#8221; the UK economy.</p>
<p>The business world needed the &#8220;natural skills&#8221; of women, including good communications and multi-tasking, said the group, which included Stephen Quinn, managing publisher of Vogue.</p>
<p>The call was made as Veuve Clicquot launched its appeal for nominations for its prestigious businesswoman of the year award for 2011.</p>
<p>Elsa Corbineau, brand director of Veuve Clicquot, said: &#8220;With only five women chief executives in the FTSE 100, it&#8217;s clear that more needs to be done to nurture rising talent.</p>
<p>&#8220;Women do not need to become more masculine in their approach to business, instead we are recommending they take stand-out qualities from men and use them to their advantage.&#8221;</p>
