		</div><p>Caitlyn Jenner has revealed she considered ending her life during the years she spent living as Bruce.</p>
<p>The former athlete, who has undergone a transition to live as a woman, opened up about the pain she felt before she decided to come out as transgender.</p>
<p>Caitlyn confessed: “I’ve been in some dark places, I have been in my house with a gun and said, ‘Let’s just end it right there, no more pain, no more suffering. That struggle, it’s real and I’ve been there.”</p>
<p>During the first episode of her new reality show I Am Cait, Caitlyn visits the family of a young transgender boy named Kyler Prescott who killed himself. According to the Daily Mirror, she then speaks of her mission to cut suicides in the community.</p>
<p>As Caitlyn highlighted in her acceptance speech for the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the Espys, suicide is a major issue affecting the transgender community, with 41 per cent having attempted suicide according to statistics from The Williams Institute.</p>
<p>Now, the 65-year-old describes herself as “optimistic about the future”, contrasting this with life before the transition: “I was an isolationist, I isolated myself from the world because I didn’t fit in, I was kind of stuck in the middle.</p>
<p>“Caitlyn fits into society better than Bruce.”</p>
<p>The show includes footage of Caitlyn meeting family members for the first time as herself.</p>
<p>Caitlyn worries how daughter Kylie might react when she video-called her, saying: “I don’t want to scare you.”</p>
<p>But the 17-year-old replies: “You’re not scaring me, you look pretty!”</p>
<p>Son-in-law Kanye West has also been hugely supportive after Caitlyn told the world that she wanted to live as a woman.</p>
<p>She explained: “Kanye and I have never really been that close but I love his open mind, and I love how he has helped Kim come to grips with this.”</p>
<p>I Am Cait will be released in the UK on August 2.</p>
