<p>Thousands of men growing moustaches for charity have been praised by David Cameron.</p>
<p>The Prime Minister hailed those participating in &#8220;Movember&#8221; &#8211; which sees men grow hair on their top lips during November to raise awareness and money to fight prostate cancer &#8211; during his weekly session of questions in the Commons.</p>
<p>But Mr Cameron stopped short of pledging to take part next year after being encouraged to do so by Liberal Democrat MP Mike Crockart (Edinburgh West).</p>
<p>Sporting his own Movember moustache, Mr Crockart called on the Prime Minister to congratulate almost half a million men worldwide who were on track to raise £25 million.</p>
<p>He added: &#8220;Given how good we look, would you consider joining us next year?&#8221;</p>
<p>Mr Cameron congratulated Mr Crockart on his &#8220;magnificent specimen&#8221; of a moustache, adding: &#8220;I think it&#8217;s absolutely right to raise awareness about prostate cancer, I think this is a very good charitable move.</p>
<p>&#8220;I can see that some of your neighbours have followed your example, as have some of the people in my protection team.</p>
<p>&#8220;They are all to be commended for raising awareness about this real killer that we need to do more about.&#8221;</p>
