<p>Catherine Zeta Jones appeared every inch the Hollywood star as she arrived at Buckingham Palace to be made a CBE by the Prince of Wales.</p>
<p>The Oscar-winning actress walked into the Queen&#8217;s official London home in a stunning outfit, with actor husband Michael Douglas, 66, by her side and their two children daughter Carys, seven, and son Dylan, 10.</p>
<p>Moments before, a people carrier bringing the star and her family swept across the red gravel of the Palace&#8217;s internal courtyard.</p>
<p>The A-list couple and their children were greeted by a footman dressed in a top hat, as guests filed into the royal residence.</p>
<p>Catherine, 41, will receive the honour from Charles, for services to the film industry and to charity, following a glittering Hollywood career.</p>
<p>The couple posed for a picture on the steps of the entrance and stood patiently for the photographer.</p>
<p>Swansea-born Catherine wore a taupe jacket and skirt with a matching wide brimmed hat and five-inch silver stiletto heels, while Michael, in a dark suit with a burgundy tie, smiled but still looked thin despite winning his much publicised fight against throat cancer.</p>
<p>When the CBE was announced in the Queen&#8217;s Birthday Honours last summer, Catherine said: &#8220;I am absolutely thrilled with this honour. As a British subject, I feel incredibly proud, at the same time it is overwhelming and humbling: And my mum and dad are delighted beyond belief.&#8221;</p>
<p>Catherine rose to fame after playing fresh-faced Mariette Larkin in ITV&#8217;s popular adaptation of HE Bates&#8217;s The Darling Buds Of May. She gained TV and film roles in America, making her breakthrough in Hollywood as Elena Montero in 1998&#8217;s The Mask Of Zorro.</p>
<p>She went on to star in gritty drugs trade drama Traffic (2000) alongside Michael Douglas, who she married in New York in November that year. Her greatest success to date has been her performance in 2002&#8217;s Chicago as vampish killer Velma Kelly, for which she won the best supporting actress Oscar.</p>
