<p>Links to the WikiLeaks website have been blocked within China amid potentially embarrassing claims made in leaked US diplomatic cables posted to it.</p>
<p>Attempts to access the wikileaks.org and cablegate.wikileaks.org sites were met with a notice saying the connection had been reset. </p>
<p>The message is the standard response prompted when a website is being blocked by Chinese authorities, who exert rigid controls over internet content. </p>
<p>While government content blocks are not at all unusual, WikiLeaks may have been singled out because of some of the assertions made in the leaked cables. </p>
<p>Such accusations include claims that Chinese leaders are prepared to accept South Korea&#8217;s eventual rule over the entire Korean peninsula and China&#8217;s Politburo directed a cyber intrusion into Google.</p>
