<p>The seriously ill mother of a four-year-old girl found stabbed to death at her home is being investigated for allegedly breaching patient confidentiality while working at a health centre.</p>
<p>Former nurse Dawn Makin, 33, is in a critical condition in hospital after a suspected suicide bid and is being treated for &#8220;various injuries&#8221;.</p>
<p>She was found lying next to the body of her daughter Chloe Burke in a bedroom at the house in Bury, Greater Manchester, on Thursday night. A post-mortem examination has revealed Chloe suffered multiple stab wounds.</p>
<p>Ms Makin, who previously worked as a nurse at Fairfield Hospital in Bury, is accused of passing information on to a third party while working at the Moorgate Primary Care Centre.</p>
<p>An investigation is being carried out by the Information Commissioner&#8217;s Office.</p>
<p>A spokeswoman said: &#8220;We are investigating a breach of confidentiality regarding patient information at NHS Bury, which involves a former employee who was based at Moorgate Primary Care Centre. These are very sad circumstances. As the police are conducting an investigation, it would be inappropriate to provide any further information.&#8221;</p>
<p>Officers were called to Ms Makin&#8217;s house in Lea Mount Drive, Bury, after being alerted by an ambulance crew.</p>
<p>Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Rawlinson, of Greater Manchester Police, said: &#8220;We are continuing to look into the circumstances leading up to and surrounding this incident but I want to stress we are not looking for anyone else in connection with what has happened. This is a very tragic case that has resulted in a young girl losing her life and our thoughts remain with Chloe&#8217;s family, who are understandably very upset by what has happened.&#8221;</p>
<p>Chloe&#8217;s father Michael Burke, 38, who is understood to be separated from Ms Makin, said his life has &#8220;fallen apart&#8221; since the little girl&#8217;s death.</p>
<p>He told the Manchester Evening News: &#8220;She was just your typical four-year-old girl. She had lots of curly hair and she loved Peppa Pig. She was a little bubbly thing. What more can you ask for? My world has fallen apart.&#8221;</p>
