Former teen idol David Cassidy is expected to admit a charge of drink-driving in Florida

Former teen idol David Cassidy is expected to plead guilty or no contest to a drink-driving charge, a Florida judge has said.

Cassidy did not turn up for a status hearing at Fort Pierce, but Judge Cliff Barnes said he expected the 60-year-old singer and Partridge Family star to enter a plea without attending court.

If Cassidy enters the written plea, he will probably be sentenced on February 16.

Cassidy, of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested on November 3 after authorities said they spotted his car weaving on a major road, The Stuart News reported.

The Highway Patrol’s report said Cassidy failed a field sobriety test and authorities said breath tests at the jail showed his blood-alcohol content was 0.139 and 0.141, above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08.
