		</div><p>Dolly Parton and Carl Dean have proven that love really can last in showbiz – renewing their wedding vows after 50 years of marriage.</p>
<p>The couple are still going strong half a century on.</p>
<p>They tied the knot on May 30 1966, and for their Golden Anniversary they celebrated with a vow renewal ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.</p>
<p>Dolly, 70, who recently kicked off her Pure &#038; Simple Tour, told Rolling Stone: “How many people can say they’ve been married 50 years? We’ve made it this long, we need to do it again.”</p>
<p>Speaking ahead of her big day, she said: “My dress is kind of off-white. I’ve always wanted a big beautiful dress, the whole thing. We’re doing it here in Nashville.”</p>
<p>Former businessman Carl, 73, who ran an asphalt-laying company, has shunned the limelight despite his marriage to global music star Dolly.</p>
<p>But in a rare interview, he has said of the first time he saw Dolly: “My first thought was I’m gonna marry that girl. My second thought was, Lord she’s good lookin’. And that was the day my life began.</p>
<p>“I wouldn’t trade the last 50 years for nothing on this earth.”<br />
The two met outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat in Nasville on Dolly’s first day in the city, and got married two years later.</p>
<p>Their first wedding was a simple, private ceremony with only Dolly’s mother, the preacher and his wife in attendance.</p>
<p>Dolly said: “If I had it to do all over, I’d do it all over again, and we did.</p>
<p>“I’m dragging him kicking and screaming into the next 50 years. Wish us luck.”</p>
<p>Dolly and Carl will be auctioning off photos from their 2016 ceremony, with proceeds going to children’s charities.</p>
<p>From Here To The Moon And Back, Dolly’s 2014 song, is also written for Carl: “Who else in this world will love you like that? / Love everlasting, I promise you that / From here to the moon and back”.</p>
