		</div><p>Dyson has entered the hair care industry by developing a smart hair dryer that controls temperature to protect hair from damage.</p>
<p>The technology giant, most commonly known for its vacuum cleaners, has spent £50 million developing the Dyson Supersonic, which the firm says is up to eight times faster at drying hair than most other dryers, with only half the weight.</p>
<p>The Supersonic contains intelligent heat control, where a glass bead thermistor built into the dryer measures the air temperature 20 times a second and sends this data to the Supersonic’s microprocessor, which then controls the temperature to prevent hair being exposed to extreme heat.</p>
<p>In developing the new product, Dyson created more than 600 prototypes and claims they were tested on more than 1,000 miles of hair in order to create the final design, which will go on sale in June for €399.</p>
<p>Founder Sir James Dyson said: “Hair dryers can be heavy, inefficient and make a racket. By looking at them further we realised that they can also cause extreme heat damage to hair. </p>
<p>I challenged Dyson engineers to really understand the science of hair and develop our version of a hair dryer, which we think solves these problems.”</p>

<p>The hair dyer also contains acoustic silencers, which are placed around the motor mounted in the handle, which results in some audio produced by the motor of the hair dryer being beyond the hearing range of humans, Dyson says, reducing the overall sound level emitted by the device when in use.</p>
<p>The Supersonic has been in development for four years, and a bespoke hair laboratory was built within the company in order to research, design and develop the product ahead of its release.</p>
