		</div><p>EE has unveiled a new tablet that is designed especially for children, including built-in children’s entertainment as well as parental controls that limit internet access.</p>
<p>The new tablet, called the Robin, comes with security software called Kurio that runs on top of the Android operating system, which filters out inappropriate content that could be accessed on other devices.</p>
<p>The telecoms firm says the aim is to give parents the ability to monitor their child’s internet use more easily, while fulfilling an increasing demand for tablets among the younger generation. According to new research from ICM, more than a third of parents are considering buying a tablet for their child.</p>

<p>EE’s Christopher Traggio said: “Parents know their children love using technology gadgets more than ever. The Robin from EE allows kids to enjoy that experience and benefit from e-learning too. What’s more, the Robin has been designed to provide parents with the peace of mind that their child is protected online with the UK’s biggest and fastest 4G network.”</p>
<p>The popularity of tablets among younger users continues to rise, as Amazon has also launched a tablet aimed at children that works on a similar principle of high levels of parental control, and built-in entertainment content. Like the Robin, it too comes with a protective bumper to protect it from damage.</p>
<p>According to a recent study by the universities of Sheffield and Edinburgh, among families that own a tablet, almost a third of children under the age of five had their own device.</p>
<p>EE’s Robin will also come with a subscription to Hopster TV, an app that contains a series of TV shows and games aimed at children aged two to six, as well as more than 40 apps and games pre-loaded on to it.</p>
<p>EE also confirmed it would go on sale from October 23, with both pay monthly and pay as you go options available.</p>
