According to the Daily Star, eight ISIS jihadists have arrived in Stockholm, with one believed to have links to IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Sixteen thousand people are expected to attend the Eurovision celebrations on May 14, but now fears have grown that Stockholm’s Globe Arena could be targeted by the terrorist group.

According to a BBC insider, the threat is “worrying for everyone about to head there”, but the event’s project manager Jesper Ackinger said that security will be at an extremely “high” level.

Nicky Byrne is gearing up to represent Ireland in the singing contest, and will jet off to Sweden next week to rehearse his song Sunlight.

Marty Whelan is reportedly set to commentate for Ireland, with the event being broadcast live on RTÉ.
