Swiss authorities say one of the seven Fifa officials arrested in Zurich as part of an American corruption probe has agreed to be extradited to the United States.
The Federal Office of Justice did not identify the official involved, saying in a statement that he “wished not to be named at the moment”.
It said the official agreed to be extradited yesterday and the office “was therefore able to approve his extradition immediately in a simplified procedure”.
It added that, in keeping with usual practice, it would not give details of when he would be handed over.
