<p>Two daredevil firefighters will recreate a stunt made famous by illusionist David Blaine after they agreed to be enclosed in a glass box suspended 30ft in the air to raise money for charity.</p>
<p>David Hunt and Jon Wordsworth will be contained in the box without food while wearing full fire kit.</p>
<p>Unlike Blaine, who lasted 44 days in his box, they will be suspended for just 48 hours.</p>
<p>The pair, who work in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, hope to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity and Cancer Research UK as part of a long-running fundraising campaign.</p>
<p>Mr Hunt, 25, will take part in the first of the so-called Perspex Box Challenges, which takes place on Friday December 10 at 12pm on Old Cavendish Street, Westminster, central London.</p>
<p>The box will be hung from a crane 30ft above the ground and he will be held inside with just a sleeping bag, a potty and water to prevent dehydration.</p>
<p>Mr Wordsworth, 28, originally from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, will attempt a similar challenge at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield in February 2011.</p>
<p>Mr Hunt wrote on their fundraising site that he knew the stunt was a &#8220;silly idea&#8221;.</p>
<p>He said: &#8220;I think it was a early Greek philosopher or Roman gladiator who coined the phrase &#8216;schoolboy error&#8217;.</p>
