<p>Colin Firth is reportedly in talks to star in the Coen brothers&#8217; remake of action comedy Gambit. </p>
<p>Joel and Ethan Coen, who penned the script, want to put their own stamp on the 1966 British film starring Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine, according to Deadline.</p>
<p>Colin, currently enjoying accolades for his portrayal of stammering King George VI in The King&#8217;s Speech, would play Harry Dean, a cat burglar who tries to rob a billionaire of his priceless statue. </p>
<p>Harry enlists the help of a waitress who looks exactly like the victim&#8217;s dead wife, but things soon turn messy.</p>
<p>The Coens have been attempting to remake Gambit for several years, but Colin previously denied claims he was involved.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a complete lie. It&#8217;s been on IMDB and just sitting there,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>The filmmaking brothers now hope to start shooting in London and Texas before next summer, with director Michael Hoffman.</p>
