<p>The death toll from a bus bombing in the Philippine capital has risen to five with 13 wounded as authorities suspect terrorists are to blame and step up security.</p>
<p>Metropolitan Manila police director Nicanor Bartolome said investigators recovered parts of a remotely detonated improvised bomb that resembled similar devices used by Muslim militants in bombings in the volatile southern Philippines.</p>
<p>President Benigno Aquino III tried to calm residents in a televised news conference shortly after Tuesday&#8217;s blast, promising his government will not allow fear to settle in.</p>
<p>He and other officials have not named any specific group but suggested the possible involvement of al Qaida linked Abu Sayyaf militants. </p>
<p>The group bombed a bus in Manila in 2005, killing four.</p>
