<p>Five people remain seriously injured after a coach overturned while leaving a motorway, police said.</p>
<p>Seventeen people were taken to hospital after the Oxford Tube coach crashed just off the M40 near Thame, Oxfordshire at 10.55 on Saturday night.</p>
<p>Four of the casualties had surgery for injuries including broken bones.</p>
<p>The double decker coach was travelling from London to Oxford and had turned off the motorway at junction 7, Thames Valley Police said.</p>
<p>It was about half full, with 33 passengers and the driver.</p>
<p>All the casualties were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.</p>
<p>Six ambulances from South Central Ambulance Service attended the scene.</p>
<p>Police said five people remained in hospital with serious injuries, though none were believed to be life threatening.</p>
<p>A police spokeswoman said: &#8220;Although the cause of the incident remains under investigation, officers do not believe that any other vehicle was involved.&#8221;</p>
<p>An Oxford Tube spokesman said: &#8220;The coach, which had 33 passengers on board, is understood to have gone through a barrier and ended up on its side.&#8221;</p>
