		</div><p>At least three people were killed in floodwaters in Australia over the weekend, while heavy rains and huge ocean swells pounded the east coast of the country.</p>
<p>Coastal residents have been forced to flee their homes as the strong storm caused serious beach erosion.</p>
<p>In the nation’s capital, Canberra, a 37-year-old man died after powerful floodwaters flipped his truck over and swept it away.</p>
<p>New South Wales state police said a body of a 65-year-old man was found in a car on Monday in a creek near the town of Bowral, about 120 kilometres (75 miles) south of Sydney. The body of another man was found in a truck washed away by floodwaters in the south west Sydney suburb of Leppington.</p>
<p>The storm whipped up waves as high as 12 metres (40 feet). It’s caused hundreds of residents living along the coast to evacuate. But this surfer decided to brave the waves at Queenscliff in Sydney.</p>
<p>The pool – at a seaside home in north Sydney – fell onto the eroded sands below. People have been evacuated as there is a danger of more homes collapsing.</p>
<p>Effects of the storm are being seen all over the region of New South Wales. More than 85,000 homes and businesses lost power over the weekend.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, state emergency services had to rescue nearly 300 people from flooded areas – many of them were attempting to drive or walk across flooded roads.</p>
