<p>Lady Gaga has said mothers should discuss safe sex with their daughters.</p>
<p>The Born This Way star also revealed she wasn&#8217;t ready to lose her virginity at 17, branding her first time a &#8220;terrible experience&#8221;.</p>
<p>The singer, whose new MAC Viva Glam Gaga lipstick is raising money for people affected by HIV and AIDS, told this week&#8217;s Grazia: &#8220;Mothers should talk to their daughters about safe sex, my mother talked to me about it when I was seven or eight years old.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think that&#8217;s right to talk about it really early on.&#8221;</p>
<p>The multi-award winning musician added: &#8220;I didn&#8217;t lose my virginity until I was 17. But I have to say even then I wasn&#8217;t ready and it was an absolutely terrible experience.&#8221;</p>
<p>Gaga &#8211; real name Stefani Germanotta &#8211; recently picked up a Grammy for Best Female Pop Performance for Bad Romance.</p>
