		</div><p>Hundreds of people have been evacuated due to a gas leak in the City of London.</p>
<p>Emergency services were called to London Wall in the business district of the capital at 4pm on Tuesday.</p>
<p>London Fire Brigade said they were called to reports of a gas leak from a cellar of a coffee shop and are standing by in case they are needed while engineers work to rectify the problem.</p>
<p>A 25 metre (82 foot) cordon is in place and City of London Police said approximately 500 people have been evacuated.</p>
<p>People are advised to avoid the area with delays to be expected.</p>
<p>TFL Traffic News tweeted that London Wall is shut eastbound at Wood Street and westbound at Blomfield Street, adding that the closures are expected to be lifted within a couple of hours.</p>
