		</div><p>Future Terminator movies are reportedly on hold as a result of Genisys&#8217; poor showing at the US box office.</p>
<p>Terminator: Genisys has made around $440 million worldwide with just $89 million taken in the US. The Hollywood Reporter says that this, in combination with its $150 million production budget, has caused Paramount to shelve the sci-fi franchise as it&#8217;s still on course to lose money.</p>
<p>There are question marks over whether a strong Chinese box office performance is enough to save a film. Forbes magazine suggests that Hollywood studios only receive 20-30% of receipts from Chinese cinemas rather than the 50% they’d get in other territories. This would explain why US success is the standard to which studios are holding their movies.</p>
<p>Even Arnold Schwarzenegger&#8217;s return and a fairly high-profile cast, which included Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and Zero Dark Thirty’s Jason Clarke couldn&#8217;t save it at the box office.<br />
It looks like Terminator, after all these years, won&#8217;t be back.</p>
