		</div><p>Global concern is mounting as the number of people infected with Zika virus is soaring.</p>
<p>Last night Columbia confirmed it has over 2,000 cases of pregnant women suffering from the illness &#8211; while it has over 20,000 cases in total.</p>
<p>Although the mosquito-borne virus&#8217;s symptoms are relatively mild &#8211; it&#8217;s linked to a devastating condition in which a baby is born with an abnormally small head and brain.</p>
<p>So far 23 countries in the Americas have confirmed cases of the virus.</p>
