<p>Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed he and Love And Other Drugs co-star Anne Hathaway had to get completely naked for the film&#8217;s sex scenes to make it believable.</p>
<p>The Brokeback Mountain star said he and Anne spend much of the film nude, because Jake doesn&#8217;t recommend wearing boxer shorts while lovemaking.</p>
<p>He revealed: &#8220;I&#8217;ve never had sex with boxers on and it&#8217;s an odd thing to watch an actor&#8230;&#8221;</p>
<p>Jake added, jokingly: &#8220;Not to say I haven&#8217;t tried, but I don&#8217;t recommend it.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Hollywood heartthrob explained he felt it was important to show his and Anne&#8217;s characters were truly comfortable around each other.</p>
<p>He said: &#8220;I think we all decided that if we were going to tell a love story, one of the essential elements of a love story is sex and it should be, and if we were going to be as open and intimate in the love story as we could be we&#8217;d have to the same thing in the sex.</p>
<p>&#8220;And when you see two people in a movie like that, particularly as an actor and they&#8217;re portraying two people in love, it&#8217;s like how do you really truly, even unconsciously believe that these two people are in love, if they don&#8217;t want to be naked around each other, you know?</p>
<p>&#8220;So that was really important to us, because we knew that if we did we&#8217;d get somewhere in the audience&#8217;s unconscious the idea that these two characters were actually in love and they weren&#8217;t just actors telling a love story.&#8221;</p>
