<p>A 29-year old man with hepatitis C has been charged with attempted murder after he spat on a hospital worker in the US.</p>
<p>A prisons official said Andre LaFrance was being held in solitary confinement and on suicide watch at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer, Alaska.</p>
<p>Sgt Walter Erickson said LaFrance was &#8220;very very unstable&#8221;.</p>
<p>Charges filed against him also include harassment.</p>
<p>State troopers were called on Monday morning after the assault at Mat-Su Regional Medical Centre. Troopers said LaFrance &#8220;intentionally transferred a dangerous bodily fluid&#8221; on to the worker.</p>
