<p>David Hockney is best known for his pop art &#8211; but his latest project is pup art.</p>
<p>The Bradford-born artist who sold a painting called Beverly Hills Housewife for nearly £5 million last year has turned his brush to dog bowls for an upcoming auction.</p>
<p>Bonhams &#038; Butterfields will auction bowls painted by Hockney and five other artists on November 23 in Los Angeles and San Francisco.</p>
<p>The auction house expects to get between £1,560 and £2,190 for each 11-inch, signed and dated bowl.</p>
<p>The other artists are Charles Arnoldi, Ross Bleckner, Robert Longo, Edward Ruscha and Kenny Scharf.</p>
<p>Proceeds from the simultaneous auctions will go to PAWS/LA, a group which helps low-income OAPs and those with life-threatening illnesses keep and care for their pets.</p>
