Hurricane Patricia hit overnight and caused less damage than first feared.

Fox News reporter William LaJeunesse is in Puerto Vallerta on Mexico’s pacific coast, where thousands of tourists were forced to evacuate.

He has said the storm went directly between the resort and another town more than 100 miles away.

“It is rural area, sparsely populated, virtually nothing there,” Mr LaJeunesse said.

“And that is the miracle that really happened is that as bad as the storm was it hit in exactly the right spot.”
