		</div><p>The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is the latest organisation to have its say on the UK&#8217;s referendum on EU membership.</p>
<p>The IMF&#8217;s managing director Christine Lagarde is expected to give a warning about the economic impact of the UK leaving the union, when she meets with the British Minister for Finance (Chancellor) George Osborne today.</p>
<p>The Bank of England has come under fire for saying a vote to quit the EU could lead to another recession.</p>
<p>The hard-hitting attack from the IMF comes as Bank of England governor Mark Carney&#8217;s warning that Brexit could trigger a technical recession provoked demands for his sacking from prominent Leave campaigner, and Tory MP member of the Commons Treasury select committee, Jacob Rees-Mogg.</p>
<p>&#8220;Mark Carney has intervened speculatively in a political matter. It&#8217;s the responsibility of the Monetary Policy Committee to be independent, and he&#8217;s decided to make a deeply political choice in a referendum which is the concern of the British people, and therefore, he should be fired,&#8221; the MP told Sky News.</p>
<p>Mr Rees-Mogg accused the governor of deliberately talking down sterling for political reasons.</p>
<p>&#8220;It is quite extraordinary, and I think unprecedented, for a governor of a central bank to tell people to short his own currency,&#8221; he said.</p>
