		</div><p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has spoken to US President-elect Donald Trump and has already received an invitation to meet.</p>
<p>Mr Netanyahu said Mr Trump invited him to meet <i>&#8220;at the first opportunity&#8221;</i> in a phone call on Wednesday.</p>
<p>A statement from Mr Netanyahu&#8217;s office said the Israeli leader congratulated Mr Trump on his win and said that <i>&#8220;the US has no better ally than Israel&#8221;.</i></p>
<p>The statement described their conversation as &#8220;warm&#8221;, and said they spoke about regional issues.</p>
<p>Israel and the US are close allies, but relations were often tense between Mr Netanyahu and President Barack Obama, mainly over Israel&#8217;s policies toward the Palestinians and concerns over the US-led nuclear deal with Iran.</p>
<p>Mr Netanyahu and Mr Trump are friendly and ties are expected to improve.</p>
<p>Mr Netanyahu met with Mr Trump and Hillary Clinton in September.</p>
