<p>Samuel L Jackson has revealed he&#8217;s auditioning girls to play his alter-ego Nick Fury&#8217;s sidekick. </p>
<p>The Oscar-nominated actor, who has played iconic characters like Star Wars&#8217; Mace Windu and Pulp Fiction&#8217;s Jules Winnfield, is midway through a nine-picture deal to portray the Marvel Comics super-spy.</p>
<p>&#8220;I got a screen test with five actresses &#8211; they have a new character who is my sidekick who&#8217;s with me all the time, so I&#8217;m auditioning girls for it,&#8221; told US talk show host Jimmy Fallon.</p>
<p>Samuel is also pleased to be the first black actor to play him.</p>
<p>&#8220;Everyone loves Nick Fury &#8211; I&#8217;m like the first black Nick Fury, so it&#8217;s all cool&#8230; It&#8217;s been David Hasselhoff and me,&#8221; he said. </p>
<p>He added: &#8220;In the next month I have to do one day on Thor, and then another day on Captain America and in April, we start the big one, The Avengers. I&#8217;m just connective tissue for them to join The Avengers.&#8221;</p>
<p>Samuel enjoyed getting a bigger role in Iron Man 2 unlike in the first film, where he had an uncredited cameo.</p>
<p>&#8220;I had a better job in Iron Man 2, so I actually got to talk, hang out with Iron Man and kick it with Scarlett, who is one of my good friends. Black Widow is it!&#8221; he said.</p>
