		</div><p>Jamie Vardy says Michael Owen is entitled to his opinion after emphatically disproving his suggestion that the Leicester striker is not a natural finisher.</p>
<p>Former Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United striker Owen, who is seventh on the all-time Premier League top goalscorers list, last month criticised Vardy while working as a pundit for BT Sport, stating that the 29-year-old relies heavily on fortune rather than finesse to score his goals.</p>
<p>Vardy ended a 16-match Foxes goal drought &#8211; he netted for England against Spain last month &#8211; with a brilliantly-taken hat-trick in Leicester&#8217;s 4-2 victory over Manchester City on Saturday; his first treble for the Foxes and his first at any level since netting three times for Fleetwood against Ebbsfleet in the Conference in 2012.</p>
<p>The England striker showed calmness, composure and a fair amount of skill with his three strikes, especially with his third goal when rounding the goalkeeper before rolling the ball home from an acute angle, and then responded to Owen&#8217;s claims.</p>
<p><i>&#8220;I don&#8217;t listen to that. He can say what he wants,&#8221;</i> said Vardy. <i>&#8220;Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I&#8217;m not going to read anything to it and that&#8217;s up to them what they say. I&#8217;ll just get on with it, work on the training field and hopefully take it into the matches.&#8221;</i></p>
<p>Vardy, whose 24 goals last season helped fire Leicester to the Premier League title, insists his long run without a goal never really got to him. He stopped short of saying he will now go on a scoring streak but insisted he was not a one season wonder.</p>
<p><i>&#8220;No it never bothered me, not at all,&#8221;</i> he added. <i>&#8220;But at the end of the day the team comes first. Although we&#8217;ve not been getting the results and a few of the performances have been below par, deep down we knew we were still the team we were last year.</p>
<p>&#8220;On Saturday&#8217;s performance we&#8217;ve definitely got that back and we&#8217;ll look forward to Tuesday now at Bournemouth.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think we can start talking about streaks and stuff like that just yet, but we&#8217;ll have to wait and see.</p>
<p>&#8220;Obviously with what happened last year, a lot of expectations go up. Against City we showed exactly what we&#8217;re about and what we can do.&#8221;</i></p>
