<p>Joan Collins has told how she fainted and ended up in hospital after squeezing into a &#8220;very tight&#8221; gown on Oscars night.</p>
<p>The former Dynasty star, 77, donned a figure-hugging purple dress by Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika for the annual occasion in Los Angeles on Sunday.</p>
<p>But her husband Percy had to call for an ambulance after she suffered a dizzy spell at the famous Vanity Fair awards party.</p>
<p>&#8220;Admittedly it was a very tight gown,&#8221; she wrote in the Daily Mail.</p>
<p>&#8220;I squeezed into it and resigned myself to not eating much at the Vanity Fair Oscars bash.&#8221;</p>
<p>But she got more than she bargained for when she began to feel dizzy and, after walking outside for fresh air, found herself surrounded by concerned firefighters.</p>
<p>&#8220;Apparently, I had fainted in Percy&#8217;s arms and he, in a panic, had asked security to call an ambulance &#8211; which was roomier than (sister) Jackie&#8217;s limo and, thanks to the sirens, much swifter in Hollywood traffic.&#8221;</p>
<p>She continued: &#8220;I put myself in the care of professionals at the hospital&#8217;s emergency room.</p>
<p>&#8220;There, after an hour of tests, the doctors discharged me with stern admonishments not to wear such tight dresses &#8211; and to eat in future if I was expected to last the pace at the fabulous Vanity Fair party.&#8221;</p>
