		</div><p>A woman in California who claims using talc for years gave her ovarian cancer has been awarded more than €64m in damages.</p>
<p>Gloria Ristesund accused Johnson and Johnson of &#8220;negligent conduct&#8221; in the making and marketing of its baby powder.</p>
<p>According to Ms Ristesund&#8217;s lawyer she used the company&#8217;s talc-based products for years and contracted ovarian cancer. The firm says it will appeal against the verdict because there&#8217;s scientific evidence the product is safe.</p>
<p>J&#038;J spokesperson Carol Goodrich has said the verdict contradicts 30 years of research supporting the safety of the product.</p>
